Memorial To Carol

Carol and I were married March 14, 1964, In Andalusia, Alabama. We lived in Florida until August of 1977. We moved to Marion, Illinois, and stayed there until August of 1984, and moved to The Colony, Texas. On November 27, 2015, Carol went home to heaven after fighting cancer for six years. I have set up a slideshow with some pictures at various stages of her life. I have posted a song from her memorial service on You Tube. Dr. Bruce Scofield gave her eulogy. He has been or friend and pastor for almost 20 years.

Having fulfilled her allotted time on Earth, Carol Fulkerson went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 27, 2015 at 6:00am. She had fought cancer for six years. Carol was born on October 16, 1944, in the city of Baldwin, New York, to Tilton and Doris Young. She attended the local schools, and the family moved to Florida in 1960. She graduated from Choctawhatchee High School, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, class of 1962. Married March 14, 1964. Carol enjoyed doing needlework, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. She worked at various banks, FDIC, and retired from J.C. Penney in 2010. Served as secretary for First baptist Church Hebron, and taught children's Sunday School classes from 1972 until 2013. Survived by two brothers, Alan and Barry Young, three children, Brian, Angi, and Keith. Five grandchildren, Ariel, heather, Tamra, Connor, and Devlin. Two great grandchildren, Cayden and Ryan. Carol had a penpal in Llandudno, Wales, since 1955. They wrote each other regularly, shared birthday cards, Christmas gifts, marriages, birth of the kids, and grandkids. They met, face to face, for the first time in 2009. Carol called Ann weekly, for the past eight years, and they shared news about the families, the good and the bad. Carol considered Ann the sister she never had. Ann sent the following message when she heard about Carol's death. Dear carol, we have been pen friends, writing to each other for 60 years and been there for each other all this time. It was wonderfully special finally meeting you and Harry in 2009 when you visited me in Wales. I will miss our phone calls and friendship which i have treasured over the years. God bless -you are at peace now, love you Ann Bate.
